La Dra. La Dra. Timek se graduó de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Stanford. Terminó su formación en cirugía plástica en la Universidad de Loma Linda, California, donde permaneció en el personal para obtener la Certificación de la Junta en Cirugía Plástica. Posteriormente, La Dra. Timek regresó a Stanford para completar una beca en microcirugía y luego se unió a la facultad académica.
